Authentication

Authentication is the process of verifying user credentials for a specified user. Authentication makes sure the user is who they say they are. Users are typically authenticated with a username and password. Authentication verifies user credentials and associates an application session with the authenticated user. Every action to Sitecore Content Marketing Hub is issued from an authenticated user. Authentication, by itself, does not grant access or authority to perform specific actions.

Password policies

A Password Policy is a set of rules that are designed to enhance computer security. These stipulations encourage users to create and employ strong passwords and to use the passwords in a proper and controlled manner. For more information, please see Password Policy.

OAuth2

OAuth 2 is an authorization framework that enables applications to obtain limited access to user accounts on an HTTP service. It works by delegating user authentication to the service that hosts the user account and authorizing third-party applications to access the user account. OAuth 2 provides authorization flows for web and desktop applications, and mobile devices. For more information, please see OAuth2.
