CMP Concepts

This section explores the different concepts deployed in the CMP solution.

The Calendar provides an overview of Content. The publication date of the Content is used to position it on the Calendar:

The Calendar provides search functionality offered through facet dropdowns.

Campaigns allow the user to create Campaigns and plan Content using the Campaign calendar. So they are able to keep track of Content within a Campaign.

Campaign performance can be measured and KPIs followed up using the Campaign and Content dashboard.

The impact of campaigns and publications can be tracked to add value.

Campaign Templates can be created to allow for consistent campaign repetition.

CMP is based around the module: Content. The Content data model comes with several Out-Of-The-Box content types. CMP allows users to create new content through a workflow from ideation to publication, before finally archiving.

This content can be localized and versioned. A content strategy can be implemented to manage campaigns, delivering a publication and campaign calendar.

Creating an Idea or Ideation is the creative process of generating new ideas. For example, the idea is for blog content for a restaurant.

The Ideation flow provides the basis for the journey of an idea from being submitted as a draft, then either rejected or approved for creation:

The content is created and the idea is subsequently generated through this association:

Once the idea is created then administrators can approve this idea for Creation. This links the content to a Stateflow and the status moves to In Progress.

CMP Publication is an entity that allows the creation of metrics for content items. Once the content has been pushed to an outlet, such as Twitter, then metrics can be gathered and input for the number of:

  • Reach
  • Clicks
  • Shares
  • Likes
  • Comments

These metrics are used to calculate an impact, using the pre-defined weighting:

Number of ActionsWeighting
Number of Reachesmultiply by 5
Number of Clicksmultiply by 10
Number of Sharesmultiply by 50
Number of Likesmultiply by 20
Number of Commentsmultiply by 30

If the user manually inputs an impact, either when creating or editing Content, then this calculation does not occur.

The Reporting dashboard gives a high-level overview of all elements of CMP:

The Search page offers both quick and advanced search functionality.

Strategy provides the marketing objectives by means of defining the five Ws:

  • What or Type.
  • Who or Audience.
  • Where or Channel and Region.
  • When or Publication date.
  • Why or Brief.

Brief assets can be uploaded to ensure that all the required information is attached and associated.

A Story point field is provided to input a metric used in agile project management to estimate the difficulty of implementing a given story.
