Background processes tab

The Background processes tab displays a table that lists all the jobs. Each row represents a job and each column a job property detail or an action button.

The table has the following columns:

  • Type: type of job.
  • Number of targets: number of targets in the job.
  • Completed on: timestamp of the job completion.
  • State: state of the job.
  • Condition: additional state parameter.

You can do the following:

  • To view the full report of a job, click VIEW REPORT.

Targets tab

The Targets tab displays a table that lists all the job targets. Each row represents a job target and each column a job target property detail or an action button:

The table has the following columns:

  • Target: target ID number.
  • Type: type of job.
  • Started on: timestamp of the target processing start.
  • State: state of the job.
  • Condition: additional state parameter.

To choose the columns you want to display in the table, click Columns .

Note

Job targets are jobs themselves.

Sorting and searching

You can sort the jobs in descending or ascending order on both the Background processes and Targets tabs. On the Background processes tab, you can sort by creation time, completion time, or the number of targets. However, on the Targets tab, you can only sort by creation time.

On both the Background processes and Targets tabs, you can search for a job by:

  • filtering the jobs based on their type, state, or condition properties, using the facets on the left panel

  • filtering the jobs using the advanced search option on the left panel

  • performing a full-text search using the search tile above the table

Job states

The following diagram illustrates a job state flow:

  • Created: a job goes to Created state as soon as you create it. The job type impacts the duration of this state.

  • Pending: a job state goes to Pending as soon as its targets are set. It has a job description and is ready for execution.

  • In Progress: a job state is InProgress state during its execution. It stays in this state until its completion.

  • Completed: a job state goes to Completed when all its related processes stop. The Condition property determines success or failure.

To refresh the job state field, click Refresh .

Important

In case of failure, the job is not automatically retried. You must create a new job.

Job stats

If you are a superuser, you can see statistical information about the jobs such as the total number of successful jobs and the average pickup time on the General job stats window.

To display the General job stats window, on the top right of the Jobs page, click Job stats.
