Add reference content
Reference content lets you create relations between content items. This way, you can reuse content and reduce duplication by creating content once and referencing it wherever you need it.
A list of reference content items displays on the content details page when you add a reference field to the content type. You can reorder the reference content items by dragging them to the place you want in the list, to change the order in which they appear in the final product.
You cannot re-order references when a content item has over a hundred references.
To reference a content item in another content item:
On the menu bar, click Content and select Search.
On the Search page, search for the desired content item and click it.
On the content details page, locate the reference section (for example, Articles, Related Content, or Chefs) and click + Add, then do one of the following:
- To create a new content item as a reference, click + Content, then set the Content dialog box parameters and click Save.
- To add an existing content item as a reference, click Add existing items, then select the content item you want and click Add.
On the content details page, click Save.
To remove a reference content item, on the content details page, locate the reference section and click Remove next to the reference content item you want to remove. To save your changes, click Save. Note that nothing prevents you from deleting a content item referenced in other content items. Make sure to check that the content item is not referenced somewhere important before deleting it.
