Watermark settings

The following tables describe the watermark settings available in the Watermark dialog box:

Overview

In the Overview section, you can define the settings described in the following table.

Field	Type	Notes
Name	Text	This field is mandatory, and must be unique.
Watermark format	Text and variables	Variables can be any property and can be next to text. The default is `{User}`. The format is truncated at 60 characters and the values are case-insensitive (`{User}` or `{user}` work. For example, `{User} viewed {Title} on {Date}`: `{User}` returns the current user. `{Title}` returns the title of the asset. `{Date}` returns the current date and time, depending on the date format used. Valid Watermark format values are: String values: `{1}` returns an error. Single values: `{user Title}` returns an error. Non-multilingual values: Only primary culture properties are supported.
Rendition links	List	Provides a list of renditions to select from. The watermark applies to all selected renditions.

Style

In the Style section, you can define the settings described in the following table.

Text color	HEX (hexadecimal) color code	Color of the watermark text Full or short HEX code Default: #FFFFFF (short: #fff)
Text size	Pixels (px)	Size of the watermark text Range: 1 px to 72 px Default: 24 px
Date format	Date/time	The Date format screen provides a list of date formats and timestamps to select from Format must be valid Default: NULL
Angle	Degrees (°)	Angle of the watermark Range: 1° to 360° Default: 30°
Opacity	Percent (%)	Opacity of the watermark Range: 0% (entirely transparent) to 100% (opaque) Default: 20%
Offset	X%, Y%	Relative offset of the X and Y axis of the watermark Range: 1% to 100% Default: X50%, Y50%

Text color

The following image shows an example of watermark text colors.

To define a date format and open the Date format dialog box, click Add .

Angle

The following image shows an example of watermark angles.

Background image

In the Background image section, you can define the settings described in the following table.

Field	Type	Description
Image URL	URL or path	The URL link or file path of the background image URL link or file path must be valid Default file path: /img/background.png Can be any public link created in Sitecore Content Hub
Opacity	Percent (%)	Opacity of the background image Range: 0% (entirely transparent) to 100% (opaque) Default: 50%
Position	List	Position of the background image on the watermark: The drop-down list gives a choice of positions to select from. The default is Bottom-right
